Surabaya, (20 December 2023) – Tuesday (19/12), PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) held a special event by inviting mothers in the Krembangan sub-district area who have stunted children to cook together in an event entitled "From Mother to Mother, Cooking Together, Healthy Menus for the Great Generation." This event aims to present a healthy menu with cheap and easy to obtain ingredients, in line with the government's efforts to reduce stunting rates in the city of Surabaya.

In accordance with the national theme in commemoration of Mother's Day 2023, namely "Empowered Women, Advanced Indonesia", this event is a medium where fellow women support each other and empower themselves to fight together against stunting. Mothers and Wives of TPS Employees share recipes and methods for preparing healthy and nutritious food with the mothers of participants in the TPS Foster Toddler Program in Krembangan District, which is expected to support children's growth and development optimally.

On the same occasion, monitoring of the growth and development of children participating in the TPS Foster Toddler Program was also carried out, in order to determine the growth and development and health conditions of the participants. Routine monitoring carried out every month since July 2023, shows positive developments, and entering the second semester of this program, TPS has succeeded in helping to eradicate 8 (eight) stunted toddlers until they were declared stunting free.

This event was held in the TPS administration building, 1st floor, Java room, attended by the Head of Krembangan Subdistrict, the TPS Corporate Secretary, the administrators of the TPS Employee Wives Association (PIP), nutrition assistants from each community health center in Krembangan District, the PHC Hospital nutrition team and volunteers from TPS team. They practice making tempeh burgers and green bean pudding, of course the children's most popular foods.

TPS Corporate Secretary, Erika A. Palupi expressed her hope that through this activity, mothers can share and strengthen each other in assisting the growth and development of their beloved sons and daughters. "Not only sharing recipes and ways to process healthy food, but also sharing experiences on parenting patterns for toddlers, so that a great generation of Indonesians in the future can be realized," said Erika.

Since this program was launched in the middle of this year, the total number of toddlers cared for by TPS has reached 19 (nineteen) children, 8 children have been declared healthy and free of stunting, while 11 other children are still in the care program.

Erika added that it is still possible for the number of toddlers cared for by TPS to increase, considering that this program is still running until June 2024. "Every toddler who has been declared healthy and free of stunting will be replaced by another toddler in Krembangan District which is ring one of the company's domicile," added Erika .

In line with the Pelindo program as its parent company, TPS continues to emphasize its commitment to support the Government in efforts to prevent and accelerate the reduction of stunting rates in Indonesia. This is important to do, considering that handling stunting requires support from various parties.

Wulan, one of the mothers of a stunted toddler, expressed her gratitude to TPS, together with related parties, especially the local government, who are seriously handling this stunting condition.

"With this activity, it really helps me in choosing or even processing food that initially looked simple, but is now processed in such a way that children also enjoy eating it." said Wulan with a happy face as the mother of toddler Rafan.

In line with Wulan, another mother of a stunted toddler, Mrs. Nurul, expressed her hope, that with this activity, mothers will know what recipes are high in nutrition and can be served as varied dishes and will be liked by children. "Hopefully all the children here will become more fond of eating, so they can soon graduate from stunting," added Nurul, mother of toddler Neimah.
